POOMALA DAM

Poomala is one of the popular tourist hill stations in India. This place situated in a calm and serene atmosphere and from the top of the hill we can view Thrissur town. There is a dam in Poomala for irrigation purpose. Recently, the premises of the Poomala dam were declared as a tourist centre by the Minister for Tourism. The dam located in the district of Thrissur underwent beautification works, which were executed by the District Tourism Promotion Council (DTPC) of Thrissur. The dam is situated about 12 KM East of Thrissur town.
