Munger, Bihar, India
The Munger Fort, built by Mohammedan kings, covers an area of around 222 acres, with a circuit of about 4 KM. From 1325 to 1351, the Munger Fort was under the control of Muhammad Bin Tughlaq of the Slave dynasty. There are two main hills, the Karnachaura and Rectangular Mound, within the fort complex. This fort was annexed by the Khiljis, Tughlaqs, Lodis, Nawabs of Bengal, Mughals and British. The fort complex includes an 18th century British cemetery, Chandisthana, Kastaharni Ghat, Palace of Shah Suja, Tomb of Pir Shah Nufa and Mullah Mohammad Sayyid Grave.
