The Jamshedpur Coin Museum is one such museum that is unique throughout the county. The museum is one of the best museums in the city of Jamshedpur and as a matter of fact, the best museum in the state of Jharkhand as well. The museum was established and opened to public on the 29th of March in the year 2009. It was built by Tata Steel and Mr. Nerurkar inaugurated it. The design of the museum building is inspired from Ancient and Roman Architecture. Jamshedpur Coin Museum is a home to numerous Indian coins and foreign currencies.
The foreign currency coins include the Pound, Dollar, Rubel, Yen and much more. It is a great place for peeking into the past of the region as well. The museum houses some of the most prized possessions of the country and the world. Historic coins of ancient India and ancient world are displayed in this museum. The museum is not only a place for amusement but is also a source of knowledge, education and information. Each of these displayed coins in the showcases have respective descriptions mentioned about the displayed coin.
