Sathuvachari, Vellore, Tamilnadu, India
The Cup and Saucer waterfall has a height of 150 feet. The hill is locally referred to as Jamadhi Hill by residents of the area. The waterfall earned its curious name due to a tank built by the Sathuvachari municipal body, which happens to be in the shape of a cup and saucer. There are multiple platforms along the stream of the water and a dyke like construction to regulate water flow and distribution to the town. The waterfall had run dry for a long period of time, but heavy rains in recent years have replenished the flow of the water and kept it alive across all the seasons. The cool and clear water are a welcome sight for visitors, and many enjoy a good session of jumping in and spending some time to freshen up. The falls also have steps leading to its top, which lets one have a closer look at the gushing water.
