LAKH BAHOSI BIRD SANCTUARY

The Lakh Bahosi Sanctuary surrounding two canal-fed shallow and saline lakes is a safe haven for a number of native mammals and migratory birds during November through March. With an area of eighty square kilometres, the sanctuary will give you the golden opportunity to sight and photograph the birds and animals. It is one of the largest bird sanctuaries in India with native birds like Indian Rollers, Purple Moorhens, Eurasian Hoopoes, Spotted Eagles, Sarus Cranes, White Ibises and Open Billed Storks and Migrants like Pelicans, Red-crested Pochards, Pintails, Bar-headed Geese and Spotbills. Lakh Bahosi Sanctuary is also rich in mammals like Nilgai, Fishing Cats, Mongoose, Jackal and Monkeys.
