Architecture

The word "Bagala" is derived from the word "Valga" (meaning – bridle or to rein in) which, became "Vagla" and then "Bagla". The Devi has 108 different names, Bagalamukhi is commonly known as Pitambari Maa in North India, the goddess associated with yellow color or golden color. She rides on Bagula bird, which is associated with Concentration, a pearl of great wisdom. Baglamukhi Temple was constructed in South indian style of architecture and the temple is extravagant stone carvings.

Religious Significance

According to the popular story in the context of Goddess Baglamukhi, once in the Satyuga there was a cosmic storm that caused the great destruction, which caused the entire world to be destroyed. This caused chaos all around, many people were in trouble and it became impossible to protect the world. Lord Vishnu became worried that this storm was moving ahead destroying everything. Unable to find any solution to this problem, he started remembering Lord Shiva. Then Lord Shiva told him that nothing other than Shakti can stop this destruction, so you go to her shelter, Then Lord Vishnu approached near Haridra Sarovar and meditated hard. Lord Vishnu pleased the Mahatripurasundari by doing penance. Goddess Shakti was pleased with her spiritual practice and Divine Bright emerged from the heart of Mahapit Devi, playing water in Haridra Lake in Saurashtra region. At that time, on the night of Chaturdashi, Goddess appeared as Bagalamukhi. Trilokya Stambhini Mahavidya Bhagwati Baglamukhi pleased and gave Vishnuji the desired groom and then the destruction of the creation could stop. Goddess Bagalamukhi is also called Bir Rati, because the Goddess herself is a Brahmastra form, she is called Ekavaktra Maharudra, that is why the Goddess is Siddha Vidya.
