The main deity of this temple is Rajeshwari Tripura Bala Sundari, who is an incarnation of Goddess Parvathi. Mother Sri Tripura Bala Sundari is situated here in a small statue in a natural form.

Architecture

Maa Tripura Bala Sundari is the form of Maa Durga. Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh are the three Puras, who is Tripura Bala. According to Tantra Saar, the aura of mother Rajeshwari Tripura Bala Sundari is like a morning sun, and she has four arms and three eyes. An ancient lake called Devi Kund is near by to temple, According to legend, Devi Durga killed the Maha Asur Durg, at this kund itself. There are statues and inscriptions engraved on the walls of the temple. The holy Shaktipeeth of Mother Bala Sundari is located here since ancient times. Temple was constructed in North indian style of architecture with shikaras and domes.

Religious Significance

The Pandavas took shelter in the forests here at the time of the unknown. The Pandavas worshiped the goddess here. According to the Markandeya Purana, on the call of the Pandavas, the mother came here and killed the demons. Then the mother Tripura Bala Sundari Shakti Peetha was established in the forests here. 

History

It is an ancient temple, details of the construction of the current temple structure are not available. It is said that the last restoration of the temple was done by King Ramchandra Maharaj.
