Architecture

Temple was constructed like a very small palace. The inscription that is placed near this temple shows that the temple was built in 1912 A.D. Many idols kept in the premises of the Vaineshwari Devi temple itself contain many historical truths. In this place, it is possible to calculate the time period of the sculpture and identification of stones. As a proof of this, the construction work of the temple is associated with the present times.

Religious Significance

There is also a story that Maharani Laxmivati, wife of Maharaja late Lakshmeshwar Singh of Darbhanga, had demanded a son from his brother-in-law Maharaj Rameshwar Singh and Ram Bahadur Shri Nath Mishra from Vineshwari Devi. With the blessings of Vineshwari Bhagwati, both of them got one son Ratna. Maharani Lakshmivati built a grand temple in return.

It is said that angry with the tyranny of the Vicious kings, the daughter of Pandit Von Jha, who was very beautiful to look at, was changed into a stone form as a vengeance. The idol of Vaineshwari Devi has emerged from the nearby pond, which clarifies its veracity. The local people took this idol out of the pond and placed it under a peepal tree and started worshiping Bhagwati there.

History

The temple was built in 19th century A.D. by Maharani Lakshmivati and contributed by King Shiva Singh of Karnata Dynasty.
