Shri Ganga Maharaj, the divine river Ganga personified as a Goddess titting on the back of the crocodile. The statue is made of marble and Ganga Maharani is sitting on the crocodile. On one side stands a 4 feet high statue of king Bhagiratha with his hands folded.
The another side of temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna, who is an avatar of Lord Vishnu. Here deity is holding the Giri Raj Mountain in his hand. The another main deity of this temple is Lord Shiva, who is along with Parvathi.

Architecture
Shri Ganga Maharani Temple is a center of faith for all Hindus and it has a historical past having beauty of structure sculpture, carving, engraving, mosaic work, geometrical perfections. This two storeyed temple is a happy mix of various tiles of architecture and a rare one from the architectural point of view. Artistic carving work has been done on pillars and temple panels. On the main gate on one side is a statue of Lord Krishna holding the Giri Raj Mountain in his hand while on the other side are Shiva Parvati and Laxmi Narayanji. The construction material i.e., the stone was procured from Bansi Pahadpur of Bharatpur District.
Religious Significance
King of Bharatpur Maharaj Balwant Singh did not have any issue, hence to get blessed with a son, He founded this temple at the suggestion of Shri Hardevji Maharaj. By and by, generation to the generation, the building work continued. The Maharaj did not accept any help from outside. So he went to the extent of deduction contributions from salaries of his employees. It took many many years to get the temple built. As a special feature of the temple is that the King and Queen could have first sight of Ganga Maharani and even today a window in their royal palace opens exactly towards the temple of Shri Gangaji and the darshan of Shri Ganga can be held by the King or the Queen.
History
This temple was built in 19th Century by Maharaja Balwant Singh. Temple was was built in the span of 1845 to 1937, It takes more than 90 years to complete the total construction of the temple.
