Architecture

Suryanarayana swamy temple is built in Kerala style of architecture and facing in East direction. The temple has a Dhawajastabham in front and temple consists of Garbha Gudi, Teertha Mantapa, Anna Chathra, parking places, Shree Devi Gudi, Suthu Pauli inside the temple, Vasantha Mantapa, Holy pond, Well, Naagana Bana, Paaka Shaale and Raja Gopura. The temple construction made of Black and Red stone. The Wooden & Stone carvings are mesmerizing in temple.

Religious Significance

In the beginning it was worshiped as Parabrahma. Some worshipers of Shiva (Shaivas) worshiped this divine power as the base of Shiva-Shakti. This Shiva-Shakti is the visual and concrete form of unvisualised form of Parabrahma. With this fundamental faith the worship of Parashiva and Parashakthi was being performed. The idol of Maha Ganapati was installed. Later, the Vaishnavas took charge of this temple and to suit their customs, they worshiped the Parabrahmashakti as Shreemannarayana. They believed that Parashakti and Parashiva were the form of Parabrahma and they worshiped the idol of Shiva.

History

The temple is about 1200 years ago, constructed under Jain female chief Queen and temple was renovated in the year 2006.
