Srirangapatna, Mandya, Karnataka, India
Displaying an Indo-Islamic style of architecture, this monument was constructed in 1537 by Kempe Gowda. The residence of Tipu Sultan was situated inside this fort. This fort was a defense system and also included two dungeons in its lower chambers where British soldiers were detained on arrest. The paintings on the walls of the fort are marvelous and depict the victory of Tipu Sultan over the British.
