Established in the year of 1979 by the Indian railways, Mysore Rail Museum is the second museum of its kind, after the National Railway Museum, which is located in Delhi. This museum boasts of a rich collection of photographs and various items depicting various stages in the development of Indian railways along with a captivating exhibit of locomotives. Previously most of the exhibits of the museums were kept at the Mysore Palace and later were shifted to their present place.
