Architecture
Rankini Temple has an entrance arch and shrine. The grabha gudi has an seperate arch and entrance mandapam and the ancient temple is said to have formerly existed on a rock.
Religious Significance
In the bygone times, a tribal man saw a little tribal girl turning into Devi Rankini to kill a demon. The man tried chasing the girl but all the attempts he made went in vain, the same night Devi Rankini appeared in his dreams and directed him to build a temple. It is said that Rankini Mandir stands at the exact place where the girl turned to the Goddess.
