Sri Sanjeevaraya Swamy is the main deity of this temple. Here lord is an incarnation of Lord Hanuman. Lord Hanuma is 16 feet tall and will be in standing posture. He gigantic posture of Sri Sanjeevaraya is a feast to the Eyes. In his gold like feet has Nuupuram and in his ankle the Thandai adores. His left leg forward as he moves to the enemy territory to destruct the power of enemy. Lords is seen wearing peethambaram in kacham style, which is highly ornamented. He is wearing ornamental waist band. His long tail is raised above his head. With his right hand Lord is assuring the devotees not to fear through ‘abhya’ mudra. His left hand is resting on the hip holding the weapon ‘Gadha’ and in the kankana adorns the wrists. His utriyam is shown flowing. His chest is adorned with many malas and other ornamental chains and one of them has Sri Rama and Sri Sita embossed locket. His flowing hair is locked neatly. Here Sri Sanjeevaraya Swamy deity was installed by the king Hanumath Mallu.

Architecture
In Tretayuga, Rama – Ravana war Lakshmana injured and fell unconscious state few medical herbs were required. So Rama ordered to Hanuman for bring Sanjeevini from Himalayas. Hanuman went to Himalayas and brought the mountain return to Lanka. Sanjavarayanjaneyaswamy temple was built in Vijanagara style of architecture. Sanjavarayanjaneyaswamy temple has a Five tier Rajagopuram. The stone Dhwaja Stamba of this temple which is special signature of Vijayanagara Style. Sri Ganesha and Sri Anjaneya are sculptured in the Dhwaja Stamba. At the entrance of temple, main Mandapam is located. In the arch above the main Mandapam Sri Anjaneya with folded hand in Sindhura Veerna can be seen. The outer wall of the main temple is surrounded with a platform supported by stone pillars.
Religious Significance
Sri Hanumath Mallu an army chieftain came to this place for hunting. He fell sick while on sujorn and was compelled to stay at the village Vellala. While on camp at this place one day he was given a divine direction that he should bring to bank the statue of Sri Hanuman from inside the Kumudavathi River. Anjaneya appears in his dream to construct a temple on the bank of Kumudavathi river. Hanumadh Malludu who was ruling the region, had sever illness.Anjaneya swamy appeared in his dream and told him that he is lying in the Kumudavathi river bed and asked him to construct temple for the idol, which frees him from his illness. After finish his prayers, He began to leap again in to the air. The sages who were living at the banks of Kumudavathi requested him to stay back. Anjaneya replied to them that he is in Rama’s mission and should start immediately then he told them “Vellala” in telugu it means “Have to go”. So, the village name is Vellala. Vellala Sanjeevaraya Swamy Temple was built in 15th century by Vijayanagara rulers and Nayakas was contributed.
