Architecture

In terms of its architecture, the temple bears resemblance to the Sun temple built at Deo. Square granite blocks are used to built the magnificent Vaishnava Temple. Garbha Gudi has its measures of its length 68.60 feet x 53 feet and Uchoi 60 feet. Apart from this, there is also the Mandap which is supported by the curious monolithic pillars. All sculptures and inscriptions are made of black stone, which is excellent specimen of the Palanquin statue art.

Religious Significance

Traditionally it is mentioned in Hindu mythology, Krishna's son, Samba is considered one of the twelve Sun Temples built. In addition to the story of Samba with this temple, here was the Goddess Aditya, according to a story about the worship temple, the first Devasur Sangram when the gods were defeated at the hands of the Asuras, then God Mata Aditi worshiped the sixth maaya in Devaranya for the achievement of a bright son. Then, pleased, the sixth Maya gave a boon to him as a perfect grand child. After this Aditya Bhagwan, the trinity of the son of Aditi, who conquered the gods on Asurus. It is said that from the same time the name of this Dham was done in the name of Dev Sansana Shashthi Devi and the practice of Chhath started. Extra Purvarva all and Siva Bhakta monks have different stories of Mali-Sumali also show different reasons and times of its creation.

History

Historians estimate the time for the construction of this temple to be in the middle of the 7th century A.D. by Raja Bhairavendra.
